How to make a perfect Omelette

Omelets have always been a favourite food to eat for breakfast. But how do you make them perfectly? I've tried many different methods and recipes, but none of them seem to work! So I am sharing some tips and tricks today to help you make fluffy, delicious omelets every morning.

Before we start making omelets, let's remember that eggs are temperamental. It is important that eggs are fresh from an organic market and kept cool until used. If they are not kept cold enough, the whites won’t form properly. The yolks will also break down too quickly and become runny. This causes your omelets to look oddly colored. If you plan to cook the eggs right away, it is best to use room temperature eggs.

Another tip is to separate your egg before adding it into the pan. The yolk and white should not be mixed together as this can cause the omelet's curdle.

The bottom part of an egg that is added directly to the stovetop might be burned, which could cause a ruined texture in your omelet. Instead, heat the egg for 10 seconds in the microwave before placing it in the pan. The microwave heat will cook the egg just right without making it too hot.

Next, let's discuss mixing the eggs. When mixing eggs, it is important to thoroughly beat them. You can do this by turning the bowl of your mixer upside down. Then, vigorously shake the bowl. The egg will be thoroughly mixed in the bowl as the air is whipped.

The fun part is now - adding the milk to the mixture. First, pour half of the milk into the beaten eggs and then fold the eggs gently into the remaining milk. Do not worry if you see streaks of egg; they will disappear when the omelet is flipped.

After folding the eggs fold the pan onto medium heat. When the oil starts to hot, wait for the pan to cook. Once the oil begins to heat, add 1/4 cup butter and swirl the pan to coat it. Carefully open the pan's lid and add salt to the pan. An additional pinch of salt will prevent the omelet form sticking to your pan.

Cover the pan once you have formed the omelet. Wait for the top to set. Flip the omelet by using a spatula. Cook the other side for another minute or two. Take the omelet out of the pan and immediately serve.

This recipe works best with whole milk, but skimmed milk also works.
